Pallet Racking & Industrial Shelving
Raymond supplies a full range of quality industrial shelving, pallet racking and mezzanine alternatives, including both new and pre-owned equipment. If you need a hand with pallet racking or storage, we can help!
Cantilever Rack
Cantilever racks offer ideal storage for longer or oversized products (pipe, plywood, carpet, sheet metal, etc). Cantilever racking consists of arms fastened to a beam on one end. These structural arms can be designed to hold specific products and lengths, and the aisle side provides free access to lift trucks.
Carton Flow
Flow racks are gravity-powered skate-wheel rack equipment ideal for applications with many different SKUs. These types of racks utilize inclined shelving with a loading aisle on the high side access and a pick up lane on the low end, allowing a FIFO product inventory rotation. Slanted shelves also help with visibility, enabling greater fulfillment accuracy. Carton flow equipment is well suited for split case or piece picking.
Drive In Rack
Drive-in racking is a high density industrial racking layout with overhead cross beams that drives efficiencies in space and employee productivity. Pallets are supported by tracks anchored to the uprights. Lift trucks are allowed to freely move in and out of each pallet bay column. Numerous industries employ drive-in racking, especially those with large quantities of uniform items.
A few applications for drive-in pallet racking are grocery, food service, import/export, food manufacturing, chemicals and bulk product handling.
Because these types of racks are filled from the front, management of goods is in a "first-in/last-out" order.
Pallet Flow Rack
Pallet flow equipment is a high density alternative that applies a deep lane storage rack layout and a first in/first out pallet handling protocol. Pallet flow rack setups are oftentimes used for applications with a large stock of pallets of identical SKUs.
Pallets are deposited from a channel on the backside and unloaded from an aisle in the front. As pallets from the front are unloaded, the pallets behind travel down a decline along skate wheels or belts. This type of configuration is frequently put to use in the beverage industry, or other enterprises that have heavy merchandise with "first in/first out" constraints.
Push Back Rack
Push back storage configurations are filled from a front aisle, and pallets advance up inclined steel tracks on specialized carts. As new pallets are added from the face of the racks, they drive the pallets behind them up the incline.
In contrast to flow racks, push back rack systems don't need a loading aisle behind them and can be designed for a higher capacity warehouse. Nevertheless, because everything is loaded from the face of the rack, product treatment is handled on a "last in/first out" basis which is not suitable for operations with perishable goods. Like pallet flow racks, push back racks are best for high volumes of identical goods.
Selective Rack
Selective racking is the most widely enlisted type of storage today. These racks consist of load beams mounted on uprights with bolts or teardrop connectors. Selective rack is built with either roll formed or structural steel, with the former typically being not as costly and more adaptable.
Standard selective rack setups are usually configured as "single deep", meaning they have a single length of bays per row measuring 96" x 42". Double deep pallet racks have rows the same height, but two times as wide, meaning they can receive two pallets per bay. Double deep configurations are loaded from the front, making them a "first in / last out" configuration.
Depending on your load capacity and application, you may also wish to select different styles of pallet rack decking and accessories. Select from standard wire decking, solid steel or slotted/perforated steel depending on your specific use.
Boltless Shelving
Along with pallet racking, we offer a complete line of boltless shelving in light, medium and heavy duty options. This style of shelves is suitable for light industrial or shop use, shipping operations, record archives, parts and many other uses that require less weight support.
Customers can order decks as standard particle board, wire or solid metal decking. No nuts, bolts or other small parts are required for setup of this product, so installation is a simple project. Add accessories like side panels, work tables, post caps, footplates or tie plates.
